August 2024, Paris, France – Brightplus, a Finnish pioneer in sustainable materials innovation, has been selected from over 1,500 global applicants to join the 10th season of the esteemed LVMH Accelerator Program, “La Maison des Startups LVMH.” The program commenced in July at Station F, Europe’s largest startup incubator, situated in the heart of Paris.
La Maison des Startups LVMH is an exclusive initiative that annually brings together 30 of the world’s most promising sustainability innovators to collaborate with LVMH Maisons. The program fosters co-creation and business development between LVMH’s diverse brands and emerging startups whose solutions align with the luxury sector’s needs. By hosting the program at Station F, LVMH reinforces its commitment to innovation, entrepreneurial spirit, and excellence—the core pillars driving the Group’s growth.
As a participant, Brightplus gains unparalleled access to LVMH’s extensive luxury ecosystem, encompassing 75 iconic Maisons, including celebrated names like Moët & Chandon, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Veuve Clicquot, Loro Piana, Stella McCartney, Guerlain, Bulgari, TAG Heuer, and Tiffany & Co. Brightplus will showcase its cutting-edge solutions in two key categories: glass coatings for cosmetics, tableware, and art glass, and a revolutionary recyclable textile coating designed to transform eco-friendly textiles. Both innovations are poised to significantly reduce environmental impact while meeting the evolving sustainability demands of the luxury industry.
“This is an incredible opportunity for us to introduce our solutions to LVMH Maisons. The program’s events and networks will open many new avenues for collaboration,” said Jarkko Leivo, Technology Director and Co-Founder of Brightplus.
Pioneering Sustainable Solutions for Luxury: Brightplus’s Innovations in Glass and Textile Coatings
Brightplus is globally recognized for its advanced glass coatings, already in use by leading perfume brands. The company also addresses critical challenges in the textile industry by reducing dependence on non-renewable, oil-based materials and harmful chemicals. Their flagship product, BrightBio® textile coating, derived from food and forest industry side streams, offers superior textile protection with customizable performance, all while significantly minimizing the environmental footprint.
Categorized under science-based innovations, Brightplus’s offerings are highly relevant across three LVMH business groups: Wines & Spirits, Fashion & Leather Goods, and Perfumes & Cosmetics. The company participated in its first demonstration event with the Christian Dior Couture division in July, receiving invaluable feedback that will help refine its offerings. The next curated event, focusing on Sustainability & Greentech, is scheduled for September.
“We are excited about the opportunity to supply our products to these esteemed companies. With global trends and legislation increasingly supporting the need for sustainable solutions, we believe that the connections and opportunities provided by this program will elevate our reach to a new international level,” Jarkko Leivo continues.
